Starting My Career With Werner

Despite all the negative posts about Werner, Im taking a chance. Mostly because that in my area all other companies I checked with only offer OTR. Seems Werner runs mostly dedicated, regional and local in my area and thats exactly what I want since having a family. Im currently unemployed and have always wanted to drive a big rig since pulling a 36ft gooseneck around some 15yrs ago. Now seems like a better time than ever to pursue it especially after looking for other work for nearly a month and not even getting a callback. So this morning I filled out a online application and just received a call that I met their pre-hire requirements. Tomorrow Im contacting TDI to make arrangements on getting my CDLs. Im pretty excited and know that its very early to assume anything but as I said, Ive always wanted to do this but never took the time to do what I wanted to do. I will keep yall posted as much as I can on my progress and experiences.

 

Next class starts on the 17th, gotta get my background check done before then. Talked to my Werner recruiter today also, she tells me there are Family Dollar accounts available but cant promise me that it'll be available in 3-4 weeks when i get out of school. Says I may have to run a TZ account till another Fd opens up, which is exactly what I dont want...Ummmmm, Red Flag or what?

 

Im pretty sure thats what she called it, said its more less OTR with hometime bout every 4weeks.

 

The more I think about it, she may have said teams.
