    also i now have a prehire and orientation date from cr england .. finally got my letter from my lawyer for my 04-09 non working statues so with that should get a few more prehires

    this is good news (the lawyer's letter) you should NOT be too concerned with that anymore.

    ah yes....a "noob" and backing.......

    it certainly IS NOT that easy as we "old timers" make it look.....huh....??

    in a very short time, you will master it. every backing maneuver, starts with a straight back, and ends with a straight back.....its what you do "in the middle" to get the end result, like for parallel and alley docking.

    are you still in the classroom or outside all day now...

    as for "pre-hire letters", remember, that they are not really worth the paper they are printed on, as the REAL application process takes place once you are in orientation...!!

    but you should do fine, as you have some stuff already taken care of.

    keep us up to date. good luck........oh yeah one more minor detail.....

    that "thing" wearing the orange safety vest....??? it ain't a walking cone, please DO NOT run it over....!! lol.......

    ye sadly cos my work history is only 1yr old the companys are wanting the letter which my lawyer is now doing and sending me monday

    we went out on fri and did the backing we r going to be outside from now on

    i didnt hit any cones just found it hard to bring it out straight cos his so called cone to line it up with was nowhere where it should have been so it kept messing me up lol

    werner has me for orientation on the 27th dec ... cr england want me there on the 20th but want me to do an unpaid 2 1/2 week "refresher course" which i think is the same stuff i am doing now for my actaul cdl so am not sure i am looking also into covenant,stevens,roehl. stevens and covenent wont even give me a prehire without the lawyer letter and roehl i only got the app in this friday pm on the net gotta call the recruiter there on monday to see what happens

    well i have my orientation for covenant either the 26th or 2nd jan .. roehl wont hire me cos i need to have held a usa licence for 36mnths

    Hmm. Orientation. Two weeks of reviewing the same stuff you did for your CDL. Then three to five weeks living in a sleeper cab as a training driver shows you the rope of terminals and that qualcom. Then you may still need to pass a driving test. Werner, you're a team driver until your trainer says you're ready.

    i arrived in the usa in 04 on a visa waiver that expired in july 04 the women i was with at the time didnt file my paperwork we were seperated by xmas 04. spent the next few yrs living with friends trying to figure how to get home (had no money) met my current wife we filled my paperwork and i got my work permit 04 - 09 with no work history cos i had no work permit. hope this explains the lawyer letter.

    kagetsu ... yep i have a date for werner they want me on the 27th right now i am just seeing all who will give me orientation and am asking them a set of questions.. the one who seems to fit my needs will be who i go with lol

    Congrats man! Isn't school a blast! All those prehires you have gotten use them as a last resort. There are some really good smaller companies right here in Fl that will take you. Some of them you can make a lot more money starting out then those mega-carriers. Did you call Windy Hill yet? Armellini also. Armellini is going to be a little more work but is probably going to be your highest wage. They will also have you home every 3-5 days due to their floral freight. If you need any help just pm me.     so end of week both my instructers r happy with my progress there is 3 of us in the class the other guy is doing great but the girl well ye :( i dont think she will graduate with us. so next wed is my backing finals have to do alley,offset,parallel parking and straighline backing. little nervous on those as am doing ok but not fantastic at lol. then thur will be test day wooot fingers crossed lol
