Starting orentation tomorrow for ACT!

They got me rolling first thing this morning. Had a choice of 3 loads.

Lawton to Dekalb, IL
Lawton to Kansas City
Lawton to Lockbourne, OH

I took the Dekalb load. Not sure how our freight is in the Lockbourne area is yet, and i know i can drop early in Dekalb and we have alot of freight in that area.

 

Yep. So far, so good.

 

Made my drop this morning in Dekalb. Was given a preplan before I was empty. Picked up in Monee, heading to Claycomo. Will be a over night run since I only had 3 hrs when I picked up the load.

 

I woke up at did my pretrip and saw I had a flat tire on the trailer. 3 hrs later, I was on the road. Delivered in Claycomo. I did a restart over the weekend since I was bumping the 70 hard the last few days.

I was given a preplan that picked up in Kansas City this morning going to the dreaded Walgreens in Mt. Vernon, IL. Not looking forward to the long unload, but close to where I grew up. I am staying the night at Little Nashville and having dinner with my parents.

I have a preplan picking up in Trenton, IL and delivering to St. Joe, MO for a wed. delivery. They are keeping me close to St. Louis since I have home time Thursday. Long overdue. I stayed out for 2 months since my wife couldn't move up here till this month due to work.

 

Finally delivered in Mt. Vernon after a 10 1/2 hour wait to get unloaded. Had to drive all night to make my delivery in St. Joe. Dropped there and now taking my 10 hr break. I have to do the same run again. Picking up in KC, going to Mt. Vernon for the am. This time, I am having my family pick me up from the consignee and I will be spening most of my delivery time with family. Not sitting at the customer.

Customers like that is one of the bad sides of this industry. I sure wish companies would stand up and say, no more!

 

I'm a company driver so I only get $10.00 per hour. I agree, at least we get paid detention. just kind of rough doing this load back to back. I had to wait 4 hrs getting loaded this time too. Just too much sitting around for me on this run. Oh well, so far, only place we go to that i'm not a fan of. So that is a good thing.

 

I delivered in Mt. Vernon and headed home for my time off. After 4 days off, I headed to Sauget, IL. Picked up a load with alittle extra time on it heading to Ardmore, OK for tomorrow. Glad it has extra time on it since I got a nice cold from the wife on hometime. Ha!
