Oh. Well, there goes that idea! My recruiter made it sound like if only be there a couple of days since I have my permit already. Whatever happens, I'm just grateful for this opportunity.

Huh, I thought I would be seeing the Millennium building soon too, lol. Oh well, all in due time. It will be cool to meet so many different people who are going in for the same thing. My father in law is the one who is getting me the information to go so I know a little about what I will be looking forward too. Him and another driver who's a friend of his are the one who will be training me so it's nice that I will know my trainers. I will be driving from Fort Worth tomorrow and will probably arrive around 2PM. Are you driving or taking the Greyhound Wesley?

Taking the greyhound. I'll arrive in SpringMO at 6am Monday. Look forward to meeting you!

I'm starting on the 14th as well. I have one concern and that is how safe is our stuff in the room while we are out for the day? Is there any kind of safe place to leave your belongings? Are the students coming and going from the rooms at different times each day? I know that we are sharing a room with a stranger and who's to say that they don't get sent home early from not passing a part of orientation and they pack up their own stuff and mine and take off?

connector Thanks this.

It might have, generally have not heard about it. Biggest thing you will hear about is the student who thinks he is a stud and hits on the maids, instant termination there. Also the student who boozes it up and that is instant termination. Students are not allowed to drink and booze is not allowed on Prime property.

There is a lot of trust involved in trucking. Prime trusts you to be their corporate "face" when you go to a client to pickup or deliver freight, they trust you to be courteous with the client's staff, and then there's the entire issue of the security of the freight (it can be worth millions of bucks) in the trailer, not to mention the use of company equipment to move that freight. Trust is important... so someone who breaks "trust" by stealing is going to be gone in a hurry, and management gets very serious about solving these issues. At least that's been my experience...connector and Danfromwindsor Thank this. -
Get creative and find you a hiding spot. Duct tape a piece of cardboard under a table and make a shelf or pull out a bottom drawer or something like that. You could even cut a slit in the bottom of a box spring. You know that felt cover.connector Thanks this. -
Thanks for the replies. I understand and agree that we need to trust each other, and I do trust fellow co-workers. It is the guy who gets sent home early for not passing part of orientation that I was worried about. He may have no loyalty to the company and no reason to worry about if he can be trusted. Likely he is p*ssed off and might decide to grab something on his way out if he thinks no one will notice before he is back on a bus and heading outta there. Anyway, there's no sense in beating this question to death, since it is very unlikely and there's no way to tell ahead of time if something like this might happen. It was just a worst-case scenario that crossed my mind. Thanks for the reassurance.
