Should have mentioned this...this is something important to bring with you to orientation, a positive attitude. Doesn't matter what company you're going to. You will hear drivers complain and bellyache. They will want to tell the new company about all the evils of the old company. You will hear bad talk about members in management and dispatchers and safety. Just because one driver clashed with the person or didn't get along with a dispatcher means that you too will clash.
i hear bad things about my dispatcher everyday.
"she's pushy. She pushes her drivers hard."
That means she shows up to work every day. I can use that to my advantage. She will beat the bushes looking for loads. The alternative is having one that hides in the restroom, or never answers the phone. Give me pushy. My time is important to me.
"She thinks she owns your truck"
That should cut down on the garbage loads. Excellent!
"my buddy is on her board and he says he can't make any money with her."
But she's pushy and thinks she owns the truck...how can he not make money if she's always pushing him to take loads?
See what I mean?
