Starting out as a team driver

A quick second hand story.....

A trainer told a student if while driving and a deer comes out onto the road, don't try to avoid just hit and see what happens.....(too dangerous to try to stop or avoid)..............
While student driving one night (early) 10pm trainer sitting in bunk practicing on his guitar.....hhhmmm.............student slams on brakes and swerves...........throwing trainer from bunk onto floor and dash face first breaking guitar in half and causing a gash on trainers face and shoulder from hitting gearshift and dash................
When student was asked why he stated................" trainer told me what to do if A deer comes out onto road".............BUT......their were 5
