Just finished my interview with Halliburton, It started shaky but I finished strong and at the end I got a job offer :) now I just wait for the letter in my email. I was only offered 14.50 hr with 14/7 schedule. And I guess they don't pay you for your week off.

Yes. It's like 35 dollars a day if your out on job site and don't come back. They only provide housing for first 30 days.

I've been fueling for the same Halliburton crew for a few weeks now in Midland/Odessa and have gotten to talk to a few of the guys; without fail, just about all of them that I've talked with are either about to leave for another frac company or are planning their exit to something else in the oilfield. Between the garbage pay, the per diem which Halliburton is trying to limit now, and the seriously unsafe equipment a lot of the Halli crews run (some of the oldest and jankiest I've seen in the fields) it seems like no one is happy there.

The upshot is that there is A LOT of room to move up for guys who will stick around or even better, for those who do want to leave, Halliburton looks great on a resume and the safety training/certs they get you are very valuable to other companies.

OP-No matter what, put in at least 90 days with Halli. After that, you'll be able to get a gig with just about any frac company you want. The money gets a lot better elsewhere.

If their offering 14.5 in odessa without permanent housing your gonna have a tough time. I make 7 dollars an hour more and get just as many hours as those guys.

Yeah learn as much as you can. Take as many of their tests as possible.

    Whether you stay or not.
