Why do you say that? What about reefers didn't you like?

Not exactly. However, it was not uncommon for many drivers to hold more than one license, but not for every state in which they drove. If the driver was ticketed he might give the officer the license with the least offenses. That came to an end when the feds came up with the CDL.

I did reefers most of my career. Nothing wrong with reefers is you choose a good company. Back when I pulled reefers I made avg. $55k per year, but there's reefer drivers now making $60K+ with the better companies such as Holland Enterprises and some others. There's some good reefer companies that hire new CDL grads too; Abiliene Motor Express, Freymiller, Decker Truck Line, Magnum Ltd., Navajo Express, Pride Transport, and some others.

I didn't read the whole thread, but come on were talking about truck driving here not neurosurgery. The driving is pretty much gonna be the same regardless of what you're pulling, unless it's something unusual. It's not rocket science to figure out how to secure a load, I did it with ZERO training and probably went overboard but got it done. If you want to doo flatbedding, then do it. This is just my opinion, but I've always thought dry vans were for the morbidly obese and mentally challenged.....and judging by the way they drive, prove the former on a daily basis
