If you are just starting out with the grand idea that trucking is going to be a vacatin and see the country think again. First of all you do get to see the back side of every big city the dirty parts of town, the fenced in parking lots with barbed wire to keep you safe, if you get the luxury of getting to stay at the consignee's place of business. The rest you get is interrupted and sparodic, the mindset you you must put on is expect nothing and anything above that is a plus. You will miss your loved ones so bad at times it hurts, You must put up with drivers who are not only having a bad day but a bad life and you step into it. The people who work the docks for the most part dont want you there and treat youy lke a second class citizen. The brotherhood of trucking among drivers is all but non-existent (need directons??) get on the CB for some advice?? What do you hear?? BUT A MAP DRIVER!!!! But remember what goes around comes around, so if you want to be part of America's big wheel and make it go round and round you can not choose a better career. The most misunderstood and under rated job in america is the trucker. But if you are hungry to be one, the only way to fill that desire is to be one, GOOD LUCK!! And THANKS to all those who give of themselves day after day. For us all because if it wern't for the American Trucker we would not have a thing ..THANKS :biggrin_25520:
