Many companies are switching to automatics now that most of the bugs have been worked out. The big issue is better fuel economy. Just pick a good company and don't worry about the transmission because eventually that's all that will be out there except for niche markets.

many of the training noobie companies are switching to automatics for two reasons, because half the noobs can't shift and two.. if they ever figured out how to shift they'd leave that .20 something CPM company and get a real trucking job.

If I started a noob training company I'd do the same, heck I'd make all my loads drop and hook also... that way they'll never learn how to shift AND back into a dock so they'll be stuck earning .14 CPM with my company forever because nobody else will hire them maahhhhahahahaha!

Hopefully Mr. Werner isn't reading this thread, I bet he'd steal my idea. lmao
