My wife and I recently lost our jobs. Thanks to your website/forum we were able to get our permit and sign up at our local vo-tech for training within three days after being "let go". We looked into several different training options and ultimately chose the vo-tech option because of price and course length. Since we are both unfamiliar with the trucking industry, we believe the eight week class (seven of which are hands-on) will give us the most time to learn the essential skills and find the right company to start out with. We have been reading the "Trucker Forum: Motor Carrier Questions - The Inside Scoop" and are currently leaning towards Benny Whitehead.
If anyone has any advice about starting out or anything else, we welcome it.

Benny Whitehead would be a good first choice for huband/wife teams. Definitely a good first choice.
If that doesn't work out then try Central Refrigerated or National Carriers or Martin Enterprises of the Carolinas Inc.
