Mid 40's (with per diem payments added onto your taxable gross) is do-able. Depends on how agressive you are at getting things done, your FM, and how much home time you take.

If the wheels aren't turnin', you're not earnin'...

Does prime have a minimum amount of home time? what I mean is cann I run say 8 to 10 weeks then take 2 or 3 days then run another 10 or would I have to go home every 4-6 weeks?

You don't ever have to go home! You can... you can... can run away if you want! :biggrin_2559:

Seriously, home time is bankable... it's not something you loose if you don't take it. It's also something you can use wherever, as long as you honor your available time when your stay is over.

This might should be on another thread but... If during training a true emergency happens (like death of immediate family) do they work with you. I only ask because last year I almost lost both my parents (my dad twice). I would not have needed or wanted to go home then but had they passed well you know you need a few days to take care of stuff.

Yes. I know folks who have had this sort of situation happen to them. They notified their FM of the emergency, and within a few hours a meet was arranged with another truck. They swapped loads, and were headed home within a day of being notified of the emergency.

It does take a little while to arrange, but I've never know Prime not to work with a driver on something like this.

Gator, Yes, Prime will work with you if there is an emergency by all means!! My husband's current trainee's FIL passed 2 weeks ago, he called our FM and they helped him out greatly, advanced him the $ for a plane ticket, I found him the cheapest flight, and he went home to take care of things. Hubby is on his way to pick him up and finish his training miles now. Note that the advance would be done on a case by case, they are not going to let you bury yourself in a hole but they will help.

I have got to say, we have been with a few companies out there and of all that we have been with Prime is the most family oriented we have found. Hubby's FM knows him by name, not just truck number, and what is more he knows me by name (no, I do not drive with him, I am at home). Our FM (and yes, he is ours cause what the truck does affects me too) knows how hubby and I work, I help route him, I check ahead for road construction and closures, etc., and the FM will ask him "what does the navigator show/say?"

Bottom line, I think you will be very pleased with what you find at Prime and how they feel like family!!
