62, 66, 75...what does it matter? I drive for mileage so I'm down around 57-58.
Translates to about another hundred dollars a week into my pocket.

I'm guessing your truck is still governed at 62 and you have CAT.
Wait till you get Cummings and 66. You'll be speaking differently.

    Have Cummings.
Don't care about the speed limit. I've been ungoverned before...for many years as an O/O. don't need to tear up the pavement anymore. don't have enough testosterone to prove anything anymore.
yes...truck is governed at 62. Other than coasting down hill, I rarely see that number.
Average net check late August thru December (19 weeks) , 1,060.76 per week.

    DenaliDad Thanks this.

    I don't believe a word you're saying.
If you have such experience as O/O, you'd be better off working as a company driver. You'd get way over 40cpm even with Stevens.
38 yrs as a truck driver? Working for Stevens? LOL You're funny.

You're not tearing any pavement with 66 trust me. And you don't need any more testosterone than driving 58. Your nose won't start bleeding even.

1,060.76? Possible but very unlikely for solo driver running under 60.

For all who bought into Stevens BS about MPGs... do a little math and calculate theoretical scenario where
    1. you drive @58 approx 60 hrs (rest of your 70 for post-trips and ld/unld) and avg MPG 7.5 and
    2. you drive 66 with avg MPG 6.
And don't forget about fuel surcharge. You ain't payin $3.44/gal remember?
Let me know what you figured. ;)

Yes, you're right as for company driver.
As L/O you have right to refuse a load and you can park your truck anywhere you want.
The trailer is theirs so you'll have to figure out what to do with it when you are on T/O. You have a few options.

Dude your not very bright. The difference between 6.0 and 7.5 in a yr is over 10 grand in your pocket.Even at 58 miles an hr you can run well over 3000 miles in a week.If you know what your doing.Wake up dude and do your studying before you spew on something tou obviously know nothing about. The fact that he is driving under 60 mph is exactly the reason he is making that kind of money.some guys cant fiqure it out.some guys can.Thats the way this particular surcharge is set up.It rewards you monetarily for good mpg.the better it is the more you make.Pretty simple. In your scenario your abdicating the man running 58 would make 6000 to 8000 more in a year.A nd yes I did the math.At the current surcharge running 7.5 mpg you would be paying 67 cents a gallon for fuel.At 6.0 you would be paying $1.20 cents per gallon.Lets say 400 gallons in a weel on a low estimate.Thats a difference of 212 dollars in a week x 52 equals what.YOU GET THE PICTURE.

All of Stevens loads are based on averaging 50 miles an hr.What good is it to run 66 if your just gonna have to sit for a longer period of time to deliver.Your still gonna run the same amount of miles at 66 as you would at 58.You just burn more fuel.Thats pretty much all you accomplish. Not to mention the extra wear and tear on your vehicle, which increases maintenance costs. And lets add in the extra stress involved in having to run at a higher speed. And also the safety factor involved in constantly trying to run at that speed. And even if you did run at that speed as much as possible, your still not gonna avg that.i.e.traffic,city driving,55 in some states etc.,you getting the point yet.
