I,m sure I will do fine. I guess I am just a little nervous and exited about getting out on my own without any trainers.

Got home Sat. evening from RDTC , switched my license over on Mon., Faxed it in on Tues., got a call on Tues., Trainer lined up for EVO 1 , Started packing my things , Another call Wed. morn. , Line me up with another trainer.

RDTC was a great experience. Alot crammed in your head in a short time. Passed the CDL test, scored a 3, 1 clash, forgot to set my brakes on the E-stop, 1 wide turn, 1 short turn.

Hopefully I will leave in the morning, Marshfield via Martin IN.

One ?. Do you train on the same trailer as the fleet you are entering?

If you're going flatbed, you should definitely have some time with a flatbed trainer. It may not ALL be, but they want to make sure you get some experience with the equipment you'll be using. If you're van, you might see a flatbed trainer, but I don't think you're forced to deal with the tarps or anything--if you have the nerve to sit in the truck while your trainer is tarping/strapping by himself. I'm a flatbedder, I had 1 van, 3 flatbed trainers.

    Hey, Thanks for the reply.

How far in advance does the trainer contact you before he picks you up?

Not in a hurry, just want to be ready.

I was lucky enough to hear from my trainer early on a Sunday, saying he'd be to my house to pick me up in a few hours. I wasn't even supposed to be going out with a trainer yet, as Roehl had no idea I had even moved my license to the State of Michigan and I had a very limited time to do so. Whoever you're talking to in orientation should be the one lining you up with a trainer, and hopefully give you a day/name/phone number so you'll have a good idea of when you're being picked up.

How was the training and cost of Roehl ?
Can you give me any better than details over Central Refer?

I have been reading thru all the "Best" forums and think I would settle with Central or Roehl.

    Thanks,

Let's make it simple. I don't think Roehl will hire you in Oregon.

I'm looking at moving on from Swift--mainly because of so little hometime. Does Roehl really honor their 7/4, 7/3 road and hometime option? I read one former Roehl driver complaining about how difficult it was to get home when working for Roehl, so I'd really appreciate some straight talk on just how Roehl approaches this. Thank you.
