I believe he said earlier that Shneider's rule is 10 under on all ramps.

That I do understand. I am adverse to the idea of rolling the truck. While I did manage to slow to 10 under the limit eventually, I did begin the exit ramp at 15. The ramp had a straight section before the curve, with the sign posted at the beginning of the straight. They wanted me at 10 from the moment the trailer tandems were clear of the interstate and fully in the exit lane, not as I was about to enter the curve.

Day Two of SQT has been completed!

Due to our limited class size, both me and the other trainee were able to complete our testing for both air and pump unloads. Don’t trust anything, triple check everything was pretty much the motto of the day as the trainers were constantly messing with the equipment when you weren’t looking.

We will be doing troubleshooting and more in depth tablet training and other stuff to fill in the extra time we came up with for tomorrow.

    Speed_Drums and baha Thank this.

    Day 3 of SQT Completed!

We reviewed more in depth using the tablet for performing day to day operations, as well as an overview of the variety of trailers utilized by Schneider Bulk. We also watched more safety oriented videos such as our stop work authority, snow chain installation, tire inspections etc.

Tomorrow will be finalizing all of our paperwork, meeting with our DTL, getting a rental car and going home.

Only one more day left! So close to finishing, it is exciting and I am looking forward to my future going forward.

What did the weights look like that you had to lift and push or pull?

100 lb pull, 80 lb push, 40 lb lift and carry. Out of all the physical tests, the stair step was the worst. You have to go to a decent tempo. Like the finger snaps in the Addams family theme song on repeat, for a minute straight, if that makes sense. It is after this test that they measure you heart rate.

I finished day 4 of SQT and have successfully passed all the initial training Schneider offers.

We performed advanced troubleshooting, advanced unloads and other atypical issues.

My favorite of this day was performing a wet break, or how to disconnect with loaded lines in the event of a pump failure.

I am going to be home until at least Monday, as they are locating a truck for me, and sending me yet another rental car to go pick it up.

On Friday, using the training from Schneider and nothing else, I was able to go to the DMV here and test for my Hazmat Endorsement. I passed without missing anything.

I will be starting a new thread either here, or in the general tanker forum to cover what I hope to be the first of many years of tank yanking. I haven’t decided which forum would be a better fit.

My ideal end goal is Cryo or Fuel, but it may be hard to get there. Schneider is making me love pumpkins, what can I say.

Thanks to everyone, and a special thanks to @gentleroger for your lengthy detailed advice.

You're going to do well. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.

In the random advice category - right now you feel like you know what you're doing. You sorta do, but make sure you do things the way you know they need to be done. In the next few weeks you will be frustrated to the point of tears. Remember that it happened to all of us. Take a deep breath and fall back on your training.

Make sure you are giving yourself time. Time to trip plan; time to pre trip; time to sleep; and most importantly time for yourself. My first 6 months I didn't give myself time to read, something that is at the core of who I am. It made things much harder than they had to be. Make sure you are taking care of you. Schneider is paying you to drive a truck, not to abuse yourself.
