I am going to school on March 12. I was wondering if there are going to be any questions I'll need to answer when I get there; that I should be thinking about now. I ask this because I've herd that you need to tell them what kind of trailer you want to be hauling before you finish...which I couldn't really answer...I would love to here any thought on things I should be considering before getting to the school. THANKS

Congratulations on your new adventure! SWIFT pays .25 to start but also pays you back for the schooling if you stick it out. The pay increases at an acceptable rate and if you do your job well it all works out. As far as trailers you must decide how much work you want. With trucking in general the more hands on the loads are the more they pay. Flats are nice to pull, but tarping is work. Refers pay better than Dry Vans, but you will handle more freight. Dry Vans pay the least but much of the time you just drop a Van and pick up another. It is easier. Longer hauls pay less, but you dock less... it's easier.

Drive safe and enjoy the road.

PS What location are you training at?
