Starting Swift Training Academy in Phoenix

Been out on the rode since Saturday, I love it!! We pick up a load in Tolleson,AZ . Its going to Atlanta,Ga. I have driven only 145 miles on Saturday, 512 on Sunday and 620 on Monday. This is great the 4 wheelers not so great, we are delivering Tuesday and if Saturday at the shipper didn't take forever we would have made good time. The fleet stuff sounds interesting but I don't have the capital to do that my partner does. Fleetowner33 he got started today loading in California. My mentor has 9 months OTR. (Smile) but he is a good guy and I am a sponge so we are a good fit even through he my lack experience he has 9 more months then I do.

 

Delivered my first load on time today.(smile) long trip but learned a bunch. Still have to work on my shifting. So the recap of the load was 1891 miles Phx,AZ. To ATL,Ga. Now where going to Indy,Indiana which is 518 miles got to do that tomorrow has to be there at 1730. So got to go need Zzzzzz.

 

Ok got 90 hours in so far of 240. I am really liking this mentor drop me off in phx as he has sometimes now. Will pick me up and we will be going team hope to finish in the next three weeks .

Yes I am still with Swift and I am driving solo now for the past 2 in half months. Me and my mentor got along really well but driving the team stuff was really awful never could sleep. So when my training was over it was very easy to say solo plus the person I was suppose to team with did not make it out of mentor training. I ended up getting a Volvo that a smoker had been in. I cleaned and scrubbed that baby out and then it was detailed at the Swift terminal in Phx. I have been getting the miles about 2200 to 2500 a week and have gotten Layover pay Laredo,Tx.(Swifts black hole). Spent 5 days there, detention pay which I am on now in Temple,Tx. So all the things I heard about pay I have had no problems. Now hometime different story been missing my sometime schedule date by a week each time not good. Anyway fleetowner33 nice to here from you there were no more updates because no one seem interested in the thread.

 

Hi, my husband starts the school after the 4th. He already has his permit and did his physical. Do you know if he needs to be there the first day or how that works?
