The load he has will be delivered by another driver, although ORD would get paid for getting the load to Springfield. He would then get another load out of springfield that let say would deliver on Monday, thus keeps his wheels turning and generating revenue for his pocket and the company.
Deadhead, means traveling from one point to another without a load thus generating zero money.
Yes, ORD does offer some helpful tips and information about prime. Although I can see the reefer guys side, it gets old after a while of the bashing. Reefer and flatbed are two different animals with the same goal in mind, and that's to haul freight from one point to the other.
ORD, don't take my advice personnel, just trying to help you.

Well it looks like I will have to wait until I get to springfield to take my CDL permit test. Apparently there is a new rule that requires the state to have a copy of your medical card on file before you can even take the test. It takes them a week from the time I submit it for them to get it "on file". So I will just spend the next week studying so that the test will not be an issue in springfield.
So a heads up to anyone who is thinking of training at prime in the future: Start working on your CDL permit at least a couple of weeks before you start at prime. -
This may sound like a silly question...
I am planning on driving to springfield for my training next week. Will it be an issue getting my car home? I know many other people have driven rather than taking the bus. How did you guys get your car home logistically? If I take hometime at some point between the beginning of training and when I go solo can I drive my car home then the trainer pick me up at home? Home for me is Louisville, KY. -

I sure hope so Greg, because I left my car there in Springfield. It's in a secured lot (With a lot of other vehicles that look like they've been there for years. I wonder if they're students that drove and just never came back???)123456 Thanks this. -

Just wanted to say congrats on getting in. According to the recruiter, my being female means the only ways I can get in are to wait for a female trainer to come available (in a year) or work somewhere else for 6 months at which point I can call and get hired immediately AND be a trainer for other females.

Completed my first day of orientation in SLC. The chow was not bad however, those computer training things need to be updated badly. Everyone was having a hard time with them because the questions had little to no relevance to the videos. Oh and the doctor was very gentle.
