Ya know, they know how to fix that these days...and you guys are JUST AS GUILTY.....so man up. Snip snip, or cover that soldier.
Now if I disclosed 'em all, they'd be overrun with slackin' truck drivers, wouldn't they? I always liked running up there... except the loads into and out of Easton ME. Just too long for the average Northeast load, but the revenue is good. Miss the restaurant at the T/S in Houlton though. Cute waitresses! I did a round-robin load out of the DC in Lewiston... didn't like what I had to do to maintain on-time at five drops though. That really sucked - but I understand why the company trucks from the DC's owner are charging around all over the place now!
I just got my cdl permit here in florida and I start at prime on the 6th. Will I be keeping my florida permit or will I have to get one from Mo.?
Reasonably sure you'll keep your FL permit. I don't quite know how that all works, as JCW went to prime w/ his CDL in hand.
You keep it. Just make sure you bring it with. Once you get your cdl, you'll surrender your permit/license. I enjoyed Prime's school. They take care of you and they're fair. Just listen to your instructor, pay attention even if you ain't driving, and ask a lot of questions. Remember. The PSD phase is just training to get your license. If you aren't comfortable, don't do it. But keep in mind, it does help to learn things now. I got stuck in rush hour traffic in Dallas my first day. Scared the hell out of me, but haven't been scared of traffic since then. Also. If for any reason you feel your instructor is incompetent of 'instructing', tell your FM right away so you can get another one. I got real lucky with mine, but we got a few guys on here who got the shaft. Good luck, stay safe, and if you feel you want to quit, think long and hard before you decide too. You get a week once you leave on the road of not having to pay back the money.
New England is beautiful AFTER the snow has fallen and they have cleared the roads, etc. But during a storm? No thanks! I found out when I was a kid why so many cars had those orange balls on their antennas. That is how you FIND your car when the snow stops falling!
I would even take one of those WM routes at the moment, IP. Sitting in Massachusetts waiting for a load... may be the rest of the day and into tomorrow before I get one. I guess Irene really sucker punched production up here last weekend.
