I'm not sure what's goin on at GTI but they have ads in our paper here everyday...they never used to advertise at all when I started there..hmmmm
-
As for what term ? Modesto ? all I really know is i'll get to park in Sac. two years exp .32 -
-
It's really not that surprising. We have more freight than the drivers can keep up with. Have never run so many hot/late loads since I've been here. All were pickked up on time but sat too long at a drop yard or terminal. The last 3 weeks I've done over 3000 miles a week on the US fleet. -
Is there any drivers out of the Indianapolis term.? Was wondering how that term. is, I'm down in Radcliff, KY, talked with a recruiter today, got the appt. just wondering about the company also?! Thanks & be safe out there!!

The indy terminal manager is very hard to deal with, the dm there has the turn over rate going thru the roof. He likes to drive your truck for you, tell you how far you can go, where to park and dont worry about running out of hours you have another log book. I would suggest that if you go with them run out of greenbay. The dm's are alot better up there as is the terminal manager. Good luck to you

sorry I have been gone so long, I have been to salt lake from indy then to Oregon and am stop at the shop in Or. to have a couple thing check out and do a restart, then back home , you it is real nice out here but, god the fool's on the road hahahha, and I do not like pulling these "hills"
geese lolo seems to be alot of stuff to move I keep getting loads before I even drop one, (tip) keep up on your mac 16 !!!!
the last 64 hours well 70 I put in 3050 miles nice week I think, I have to figure away to bring more food with me, I have no tripak so cooking is out, unless some one has a good Idea. I have a small converter for charging things and a t.v
stay safe

You dont need a tripak to cook...I used a lunchbox that you plug in to a lighter socket and it worked great..they're about $26 or so at a t/s...You can get the alum inserts and cook anything. I used to make chili, soup, sloppy joes..etc. I did have to cook b4 I plugged in my tv or just ran the truck..beats eating out everytime.
tonkatruck Thanks this. -
This is a great idea. I been with GTI 7 months and use the lunchbox. Stop at any PIlot and get one for $23.99 Leave home with left overs to heat up, all kinds of ideas. One trick though, get a roll of Aluminum foil and line the box, just like a slow cooker. Easier clean up!!!
As for GTI, they are expanding the fleet, they were looking at replacing all Frieghtliner Columbias with Cascadas, now they it appears we will hang on to the Columbias with AP units and just get rid of the older ones without AP units.
I am running out of my hometown of Green Bay WI and getting 2600 average. Just a few basic rules, keep your truck looking respectfull, clean and well maintain. Learn your Qualcomm box and use it effectively. When you tell them you will be somewhere at a certain time, they will start setting you up for another load at that time in that area, thus to keep you moving.
Most of all, don't bite the hand that feeds you!!! Be respectful and professional to your dispatcher. Don't call up and start ######## when things are not right for you. You may get a couple short runs, but I bet you they will back it up with a good one after that.
