Yep Gordon works with thier drivers If you can't do the delivery safe tell them and they will get somthing that works and they have a lot of drop yards so you don't have to sit and wait to deliver, drop it get somthing eles and go... after this drop I'll have 10000 pluse miles and still a week to go
If you are choosen to go throught training DO IT..
now I can only speek for the midwest, but from what I see they care..

Hi, I'm in NC. doing a restart drove from LA to here and have now ran out of hours 5 left for tomorrow so we are starting over 3300 miles this week .. My trainer is good !!!! care about his job and the customors and what I am doing,
I'm am still having a hard time down shifting pulling a hill I'm slow at it and if I go fast I grind them, and what a differance from pulling empty to a 45000 pound load hahahahaha
well I need sleep and do the laundry oh and I am sitting on about 9200 miles in 3 weeks of training maybe a day or two more
se ya -
hey tonka, your trainers name wouldn't happen to be brent would it?
-
yes it would be. He has treated me great and I think he is a top notch guy
ssssshhhhhhh don't tell him if you know him
thx -
hey tonka,
Brent is a very nice guy and a excellent trainer, he trained me, I have the utmost respect for him. you will learn alot from him. tell him garry said hi. if you have any questions feel free to ask. -
Sorry for the delay, been a real week lolol "bowhunter they said hi, Brandy said to knock your hat off lolol..
ok 12756 miles 9000 was in 17 day's drove hard, haha it has been awhile since I have been home can't wait to get there never thought I would say it but I miss Columbus, Ohio lolo.
I'm in Green Bay for my last 2 day's then get a truck and a load then head towards the house !!!
It has been fun and trying at times I tend to beat up on myself about things so the last 2 day's I had a "the hell with it "mentality. and guess what it all fell into place, yes thats right.. so what I would tell anyone new is to just relax I know I know easyer said than done, but, it is true....
my god I have learned so much yet I am still very scared about the next few months hope I do it right...but I do have a trainer and a company that will help me every step of the way !!! so thats feels good..
The hardest thing I would say is before you do it talk to your family and make sure they understand what you are doing and are getting ready to go through, for it will be hard and trying on them as well..
for example My dad had a heart attack (minor) ( he's fine) my water main at the house broke, I lost my wallet ( credit cards money ID ect). and was late on a couple bill's.. all thing I had to take care of on the road, so be ready for anything have a goto person at the home that can make the call's ect.
ok that's it for tonight I'll tell ya what goes on in the next couple day's and about my solo trip home soon
if ya have any question to this point just ask
tonk -
all done with orentation !!yeah now I ride down to Indy and get a truck, inspect it and check all permits, pick up my 1st load then head towards the house for a few day's off take care of stuff load the truck and out on the road I go..
this has been so trip !! for 35 day away,12000 miles I have seen and done and learned so much, from seeing 2 eagles in flight ,elk, deer lot lizards, snow, freezing fog, ice, real mountians, chaining up, we even had birds in Texas dive bombing the truck for a couple hours must have hit 12-13 of the dumb butts
lots of cranky drivers, and lots of drivers that would give you any help you needed..
L.A. drivers ( what the heck is wrong with those people ) to wide open rode where you never see anyone
I did get flashed in Calif. ololol was not expecting that lolol wwwwooo
my head is spining right now the first thing I do need to do is work on getting a rythm for me as to where and how,and what order I need thing in the truck to make it easy on me. (preplan, map's qualcom ect )
I'll let you know after home time whats is going on and how the first trip goes see ya
tonkwildbill123 Thanks this. -
well I made it to Indy.. only took 12.5 hours to get here from Greenbay, to get my truck and do an inspection another hour and I'm not going into detail's until I calm down....I'm sitting in this thing waiting for a ride home I had to call someone to drive from columbus to indy to get me. 3hr's and then I have to drive back home..I'm very very very tired so I'll fill you all in after I sleep and then start making call's.....
Good night gangLodiKen Thanks this. -
