Tonkatruck welcome to trucking...Gti is a very safe company and will fix most issues on a truck but you also have to remember to not get on the wrong side of your DM. He can make life pretty hard for you and since you're a company driver...you have a forced dispatch system and might get some real crappy runs.Until the trucks get replaced by new ones, there's a lot of issues that might not get fixed at all..I had a qualcomm that was out for 3 weeks...try calling in all the time for loads...not fun..:biggrin_25521:

you are so right lol..there are a couple other issues that happened my 1st day so I got a late start (6 hours late getting things fixed and put on ) first run a nice little 456 miles with a pick up 50 miles away that put me in flagstaff .. I have driven hard in hopes to drop at the yard, but I'm stuck here till monday this is saturday night and I have a pick up tuesday in flag staff to California that delivers wed. oh well so much for working hard:biggrin_25521:
doesn't paylololol. everything for the most part is good..

Read the section on layover pay very closely. If your sitting empty, even if your under dispatch, if the load is not available to pick up?? Well read the policy in the driver handbook:biggrin_255:

yes underload I have arrived 2 day's early under hopes of a relay, the drop has a sch. time of 2200 hours on monday and now I have a pick up across the street on tuesday anytime and it delivers in cal. on wed. anytime. so, I will do a reset I guess, cause I have used up 38 hours so far in the last 3 days. I'll call and see

    thx For the Idea

ok this is getting very old , could not relay but WAS set for 2 more runs then I get this preplan for 2 hours ago pick up in flagstaff to Cal. But wait, I am under aload that delivers monday night, so I told them this that is why for the last 2 days I have been talking to them about.

So, I told them again, so what did they do took all of them off me so now I have nothing after I make the drop ( live unload ) at 10 pm monday

I may be new but dam.they are the planners I think I am going to ask for load home and take a week or 2 off until these people start working with each other..

as a new driver they are making it VERY hard to learn when I have to keep checking there work AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Never depend on the weekend DM's no matter who you drive for. Work with your regular DM before the weekend and see if they can set you up to keep moving.

When I drove I only used the night and weekend DM's if there was an issue that came up out of the norm. As you gain experiance you will be able to see yourself a few days in advance and tell your DM if it looks like you might be sitting for a while over the weekend or holiday because so far the miles are not there to get me through. Good luck.

    tonkatruck Thanks this.

Everyone's right here...weekend clowns don't have a clue whats going on..or care. The planner is a very important person to keep you moving, but they don't always work together with our DM's. If this little snafu is going to make you go home and wait for them to get it right, you had better be ready for the unemployment line. That's not how it works.A good DM will have you planned thru the days off that he has...Like i said b4, don't get on the wrong side of ur DM because you might get those 500 mile runs with 4 days to get it there....alot

I know this ,, I was just letting off steam ..you are very right. made the drop right on time then was sent to Phoenix for a pick up the it goes to Colorado for 2 drops so they are moving me around (cool) the planner and my d.m are working for me .. just the weekend folks took all that we had planed and tossed it out, and did not pat attion to what I was doing and it got all messed up , but now it worked out
