Cool thread. I'm an OSR for SNBC. Best advise I can give you is to bring only the clothes you need, don't over pack, and remember your trainer's truck maybe your classroom for the next 2 weeks, but it is his home, so respect it! From what I have read from your post, you will not have a problem. Good Luck and be safe.

Just remember to ask questions. If you feel like your trainer is rude or not showing you what you need to learn you can always ask for another trainer. I'm sure everything will be fine but I remember when I trained with a flatbed company I felt like I was my trainers helper rather than a student. Make sure you understand trip planning, log book rules and anything else that goes along with the job.

Hope you enjoy your OTR trainer. Don't know who my local trainer will be since s/he will call me on Tuesday. All I know is the hotel is going to be very busy on Monday due to last weeks training classes getting moved to next week. Around 30+ new tanker yankers will be starting Tuesday.

Some of my classmates are sharing a TE, so you might be sharing 1 with a guy from my class. But we'll see.

Day 13. Half a day, easy day. Anyone in an automatic was assigned auto training. Anyone who needed extra training got it. That was all. We got our subway and went on our ways. Merry Christmas all. I'll be back the 26th or 27th with my TE

So far so bad. I was first up to drive and the refinery we went to was TIGHT. Required a blind side back to get out of the spot. Just so happened it was a Nalco load. We also were missing a fitting but thankfully the Nalco rep had a spare connector we could use. Also was a corrosive load so has to put ALL the gear on.

1 load down 3 more to go. Next one is only 17 miles from the terminal.
