I am not as worried about my 45 backing on the road as I did pretty good on range, it's the time off and passing the DMV. When the did my assessment in PA you're allowed 6 points. I got 3 off for my 45 degree, 0 for Straight line and 0 for forward stop. Those are the only 3 skills I need. Soon as I pass DMV test (3rd party here in PA) I am sure I'll get the hang of it on the road. My worry is not losing the points on the 3rd party dmv test. That's $220 I can't afford to lose. I lost a point for pulling up once, and backed in straight but went over the line (2nd point) and had to pull up (3rd point). Probably would have gotten more if the instructor didn't yell "You done yet?" as I was creeping forwards. I seem to have a depth perception problem with keeping back end of trailer in between cones. But as long as I don't flub the 45 alley on 3rd party DMV I am sure I'll be fine. But I was practicing and practicing. Now a week maybe 2 off, just hoping it comes back to me, or they let me practice on my 3rd week of training which is on the road training.
I will say this about swift, they put A LOT of information on you in 2 weeks, but I went from not knowing anything about vehicles(not even an oil change) to knowing the whole inspection process. Only bad thing I have to say about them is that there were 2 instructors for almost 40 students. And the instructor would even say to me "He needs a lot of work" and then walk off without helping. We basically taught out selves. Which would explain why 23/38 moved on. They should look and say hrrrmm 15 people failed (2 of which already had CDLs) maybe we are doing something wrong teaching wise. I mean, I got NO help on skills test. I had to figure it out myself. Fortunately farm-boy, the whole "wagon" concept came to me somewhat ok. But man, there were people who needed help, and they weren't getting it. And 2 people aren't enough to give it to them even if they WERE willing to help. (Not complaining on my behalf as I passed, but feel bad for those that needed help and didn't get it).![]()

Is there a reason for that? Is it something were doing wrong? Becuse my truck started doing that figured it was a problem with the truck not me.. -
But if you are referring to your truck ... watch your speed at the top of the hill. If you are on the throttle or you have the cruise control on, your rpms/speed can be too high for the for the jake to be affective. -
Hubby stalled his dodge ram twice yesterday hee heee
inkeper Thanks this. -
Yeah, I can see the fun it'll be going between them. I wanted so bad to come home and see my wife and computer for a week.... 2 days in and I am like GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! lol. Next thing I need to do is talk to grocery store (in my tiny town) and see if I can park trailer there and truck in back yard. Don't think both will fit. If not there, any suggestions from you pros? Where do you park your trailer if you're unable to park it in front of your house during 3-4 day home time?
