While that is true, LEO's can still cite you for idling. Two different laws that don't have exceptions for each other built in.

Don't some states allow idle to keep the dog cooled with ac?TheLoadOut Thanks this.

Not a single state (last I looked) has any exemption for animals. Some have exemptions for using the truck for operational needs (pto), some don't even go that far.
-
Wouldn’t that be a very loose form of entrapment then? “You’re citing me for idling but if I don’t idle you’re going to cite me for animal cruelty” seems like something a lawyer can argue up though I’m sure the idle ticket is cheaper.

Anything from "The idle laws are not new, you should have checked before coming here. You could have kenneled the animal, not brought the animal, installed an APU." There are a number of ways to not violate both laws. Just people would rather break the law than get a way to cool the truck without idling. (APU)

I’m from mass and I’ve never been bothered up here and all I’ve mainly driven is the north east, I have a bunk heater but I’ll idle for ac as I want, I’m not wasting money on a bag of #### l apu
