I was stopped for doing 61 in a 50 a few years ago. Indiana State cop wrote a warning for the speeding, but nailed the truck, for no inspection, no fuel permits, and no proof of insurance. All which I had written up in my pre trip report, yeah, I was stupid for taking the truck anyway.
The company fought the tickets in court, and the assistant DA reinstated the speeding ticket. She said it was her discretion, and that she could do that, up until the case was heard. I got the speeding points on my license, and the company paid the fines. -
I was just in Colorado and got pulled in for a lvl 3 logbook check. I smiled and gave them everything thy asked for, it wasn't until i tried to make small talk did one of the guys go stern on me. I can understand it might have been a distraction or an attempt to throw his attention but the other guy said one thing about where I'm based out of and I replied. I passed with no violations and just knew that going through that scale for a second time in 2 days would flag me.

Once I was woken up by a PA Trooper so he could give me a speeding ticket. I was able to get out of it because my truck had a Qualcomm that showed the truck had been parked for 6 hours prior to the ticket being issued and 4 more hours after the ticket was issued.
I recently was told that my CDL was suspended due to three equipment violations issued to me in Oregon on my wedding day in 1994. 1) I was getting married at the Officers Club in Newport, RI that day. 2) I didn't even have a CDL until 1996. I recently learned of the ticket and I'm currently fighting the tickets.

in LA I was give a ticket by a LA Trooper for being out after curfew. I fought that ticket and won. It wasn't me it was one of my trucks and the driver was delivering Potable Water to the NOPD stations around the city after Hurricane Katrina. We had special permission under the Feds to deliver the water regardless of curfews.
OH gave me a ticket for being over weight. I fought it and won. I trying telling the Weight Master that I had a permit to be over weight and he didn't care.
OH gave me a ticket for obstructing traffic. I fought the ticket and won. I placed my truck and trailer blocking the two right lanes and breakdown lane so no one would drive over the bodies of a family ejected from their mini-van while I rendered first-aid and the trooper sat in her car and wrote the ticket.
OH gave me a ticket for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device. I fought it and won. A flatbed dropped some lumber in the road and I went into the left lane (3rd lane) to get around it.

I was stopped in the inner city making a delivery of paint and me and three other guys were pushing the pallet on a pallet jack into a store, when some old man drove into the back of my trailer. I even pointed out the lift gate was still down and the 3 cones were under the old mans car.
TN gave me a ticket and 3 days in jail when I ran over a 22 y/o drunk guy who wanted to show to his friends he could change lanes by driving under my trailer. He got caught up in my air supply lines and didn't make it. I fought it and won.

During my entire career I always carried pre-paid legal services and they have always come thru for me or my career would have been over a long time ago due to bad cops. Its was worth every penny. -
