I am not attacking you, I am asking you legitimate questions. Any company that hires you is going to ask you why you didnt have a drivers liscence. companies check your driving record for 3 or 7 years, they will want to know why you did not drive, and as far as they are concerned if you did not have a llicence you did not drive. So, most if not all states will require you to have your licence for at least a year, and I can't see a company hire you with no driving record at all. Also, why does it matter what other states require, unless you are going to move before you get your licence, it would be illegal to try to get a licence in a state you don't live in, you would be looking at a lot of trouble for yourself

Even if you moved you may need to establish residence in that new state for a certain amount of time.

I'm 26. I'm a straight pc gamer guy and security specialist in CCTV instillation and diagnosis, also a lot of skills with PC's, software and networking.

I had been working alongside my father selling retail goods like self defense supplies, and refurbished goods from things like estate sales. We lived pretty well together for 4 years now until recently where we had a dispute over a girlfriend of mine I was going out to visit for a week. Well my old man had gotten himself an infection he had gotten from his hot-tub and was going to hospitalized for a week, the same week I was going to be gone. He had said he had arranged for someone to take care of the various chores around his place while I was gone, but infact he hadn't, and instead opted into using it as a chance to try and claim my property as his and sent me threatening texts and such while I was away.

Now I'm just trying to find employment rather quickly into either a driving school or small time gig to help support me into something much larger.

Ok makes sense. Gamed a lot and didn't venture out much, hence didn't need wheels. Just go get a regular drivers license. If you use these truck company sponsored schools you may be in for a rude awakening. They don't pay well at all. You'll make less than minimum wage.

This forum is great. Use the search feature and become aquatinted with the many threads. In the mean time just go get your regular DL, and start saving up for school if it's still something you want to do, after a little more research.

    good luck.

Not trying to be rude, but look into something else. Trucking is not something you get into and make money quickly. Trucking is not just a job it is a lifestyle. If you are looking for just something to make money don't get into trucking, you have to really want to be a trucker to succeed. Also not having a licence for the last 10 years is really going to hurt your chances getting a driving job, don't think dominos would hire you to deliver pizza........ until you establish some kind of safe driving record.

Apply with places that have docks and drivers. If you get hired at an LTL dock, they might pay for your CDL once eligible. That's what I'd do.

I had been meaning to get into trucking during highschool, I'm quite aware of the living conditions and the time away from home involved in it.

I'm just trying to imagine high school without my own wheels. The day I turned sixteen I got 1992 white Lincoln town car, signature series, with red leather interior. Put some subs in the trunk, ho man.... Gang$tar....

To each their own. My little bro was a gamer and didn't get his license till 18. Still games every night, no job, and his car is literally falling apart. He has a plug in heater because the heat doesn't work... Lol
