go to your local wally world or grocer and buy a cxan of static guard,,its a little pricey,,but worth every cent, just my 2 cents.

The bungees I'm referring to are looped the the holes of the steps and hanging down. Sometimes there are just a couple, sometimes there are a bunch. And they are on the bottom step. No way would they be used to hold the pumps. But at the same time, I'm not entirely sure they are dragging the ground, which would be needed to ground the static.
And what am I supposed to do with a can of static guard? Spray it on my skirt? -
Spray it on the carpet and fabric in your truck . . . if you have either . . . seats, etc. That can help.
Try to touch something metal before touching the laptop, or other electronics. Winter is always bad for static anyway. -
The bungees through the bottom step act like a mudflap, sort of. I don't think I've ever needed static guard for my skirts.

Don't forget to have that big 'ol supersized jug of lotion in the sleeper for when the LEO's check out the cab.

I've had the bungees through my bottom step for a few years and it seems to help, it hasn't fully eliminated static but seems to happen very little since.
