Stay away from FIRST EXPRESS!!!

first express does not have electronic logs in all of their trucks

 

Thanks for the warning.I spoke to a recruiter this past week and he sure painted a rosy pic. I didnt call him back. I remember when they started back around 94-95,and they seemed to be a decent outfit then. It's amazing how most outfits start out great and eventually devolve into excrement.

 

Just a W.O.A. to you just getn in gear; take everything you read on here and hear out there with a can of salt. But keep in mind,if you read 9 negative reviews of a company for every 1 positive one...well,you get the idea.

 

when they had there terminal in medway ,ohio went to orientation for a week passed everthing, last day they lost my application wanted me to do a new one so i said to the best of my knowledge this is correct,put something in that i never put in the first one which they found after i resubmitted a new one then said i lied and canned me go figure .

only in america

 

Ya, but when they lie, it's a different story. Been there, done that. That Medway crew were some real gems. That old woman there, lied to the whole class. Only one other driver and I caught it. Notice I didn't say lady.
And there were many more lies to go with that one from her.

Most dysfunctional company I've ever been with.

 

Well Us express is what brought me here, because of them i am now unable to get a job. Or at the least they have made it dang near impossible.

I owned my own trucking company in Las Vegas, NV for 11 years and closed it in January of 2009 to move back home to Indiana. My company hauled Landscape rock, colored rock in 5 states. Nevada, Arizonia, California, Utah and New Mexico. I applied for a job with US Express working for Dollar General out of Marion, Indiana. I was Still in Nevada at the time i was offered the job, so they set orientation up in Chicago July 2009. I was told, paid rooms, lunch, mileage and fuel to get to Chicago and $100 a day for orientaion. So I went sat thru there orientation, did my drug testing and DOT Physical. On the 3rd day 2 hours before we were to be assigned trucks and head out, they disqualified me. I was told that since i did not pull a van or a flat bed that i was not an OTR driver. You have to pull a van or flat bed to be an OTR driver. So they asked me to leave.

But here is the good part of the story. Us Express does not even start the process of going to your application till you have arrived at orientation. They told me it cost them to much money to process applications, so they only process once the driver has arrived for orientation. They also did not pay me my $300 bucks for going, or for my fuel and milage.

And this still is not the good part.

A year later I am still trying to find a good driving job(lol, like there is any). Come to find out that this third party Nazi B.S. that so many lazy companies get there info from, better know as a DAC report, has a nice mark on there from US Express that is keeping me from geting jobs. Thats right, US express send me to orientation then DNQ's me and put on my DAC report that i was employed by them and that I quit/left orientation.

Nothing like taking it in the rear from a BOS company. Well Let me tell you LAW SUIT TO COME. So keep you Eye out.
