Stay away from MBM. They are one the worst companies I've ever worked for.

I work for MBM in aurora Co. All of our equipment is less than 2 years old. Most of our trucks and trailers are brand new including day cabs. The equipment is excellent. The job is not near as hard as Mclane because we have liftgates and electric pallet jacks. Half of our customers unload the trucks themselves. All we do is drop the pallet at the back door and hand them our handtrucks and they do the rest. At Mclane (thats where I came from) everything is done by the driver and you do alot of key drops, meaning that starting at 10pm and working through the night is normal. My routes I have now start at 8am. I work 4 days a week and last year made over 78k. If i was to work more I would make more but I choose not to. I am only not at home 2 days a week the other 5 days a week I am at my own house. I love the work the equipment and the job. The biggest problem with MBM is how they treat drivers. It is very very poor in Aurora colorado. I have been accused of lieing stealing and a number of other things by our dispatchers. Our trans supervisor is a miserable person that is all about corp and will not back a driver no matter if the driver is correct or not. Our trucks are governed at 62 mph and trust me when you drive a long way at 62 it will drive you crazy. We currently do paper logs but will be switching to electronic logs. I have been driving for over 20 years and I have no problem working in foodservice with MBM. I am over 40. You just have to get used to the office politics. I go to work do my job and go home. I dont talk to anyone in the office, but most companies in the trucking industry are this way. So the fact that I am high on the seniority board I wont leave the company until I retire at 60. Overall its a great place to work. Like most trucking companies, drivers arent worth #### to them. But then again after awhile you get used to it because the job and pay are so good. Hope this helps anyone out there looking at aurora co MBM as a place to work. All MBM's are different. Some only do ramp work some only do liftgate work. It depends on where you work. All I truly know about is Aurora, CO.

I did del to theaters back in the day. started 10pm had to load a 53ft trl drive and unload by ramp an you would get done between 11am-2pm next day and back at 10pm 4 days a week. Did that 4 a month. Not for me- all that weight 30k-40k per day down a ramp. You willl pay for it later.

So we foodservice drivers have weak minds because we are willing to work harder to make more money and see our wives and kids more than once a month?

I just wanted to give my take on our short experience with MBM ( :biggrin_25525: ok, my husbands, but since he hates computers, I'll share). I don't want to bad mouth a company, because my husbands experience may have been one in a million. But, I appreciate everyone's input on this site, and thought mine could help someone, or not, but that is ok lol ;) My husband has worked 2 years hauling water to the oilfields. It has been a good job, but he has wanted to deliver and the offer of more money is always intriguing, so he applied at MBM, the next day he got a call. After that it has been a real pita! My husband drove down, and filled out paperwork. A week or so later, he hadn't heard anything, so we thought "oh well". Then they called asking for us to re put in the app, and something else. That all came back, so my husband did the physical, driving and drug test. That all came back good. Next they couldn't get the info they needed from his previous companies (that isn't MBMs fault), but finally he was told that everything was ok, but since 30 days had passed he had to redo the drug test, and he did that. Now it is 3/29 and my husband gets a email saying "Congratulations! Welcome to MBM.... blah blah blah, and your orientation will start 4/21. Please fill out this online new hire paperwork before orientation." So, my husband puts his 3 week notice in at his then current job. Well, a few days before his last day he gets a call saying "Welllll the lady who sent you that email, she sometimes jumps the gun a bit,we still need a few more things". Jump to 4/30 (last monday) and my husband just had to come down again and sign paperwork (and when my husband stood there to make sure everything was ok the lady who sent the email, said "you standing there isn't going make the process go faster!") He was supposed to start orientation tuesday, but then they called saying the employee numbers weren't there yet. Wednesday he called again, and now they said he was only verified for 9 months experience, because one company hadn't came through yet. &^@# &^&#^@ $&^ &$!!!!

So the day before yesterday he decided enough is enough (I know I know, a little late, right!?) and he got hired on at another food delivery service on the spot, same pay and same job..... just no $6000 sign on lol oh well:biggrin_25526: I just wanted to put this up for others thinking of MBM, like I said this probably was a fluke, but they seem very very un-organized, and I realize companies don't often care for their drivers, but to let my husband quit his job, and then just be so ladi dah about it, shows me how things would be down the road. So if you do apply, and get hired on don't quit your job until you are 100% sure you are hired!!

I live in Colorado Springs and do a lot of deliveries all over Denver to Costco, Sams, Walmart, CDC I've ran into Mclane drivers at Sams and they said the low end of pay is 75k but they say a lot of drivers make around 100k.

Just so you know there are 2 different Mclanes. 1 is out of Loveland and they do convenience stores and 1 in Aurora which does KFC taco bell and Pizza hut. So the Mclane driver you talked to probably worked for the loveland division.
