Werner... Training ground for the walking dead.
Werner.. We Enjoy Re-leasing used equipment.. No, we really enjoy fleecing our drivers.. Everyone should apply.. Really..
Heard all of that on the CB the other day, the kicker? It came from a Wiener driver on the DG account. Just goes to show, what their drivers REALLY think about them. Just sayin...

Honestly, DG sucks horribly. Pay is really low for what it is. Have to fudge your log to make money because a lot of stores dont have smart enough people to have the backroom ready for the truck. Every once in a while theres a truck that just delivered within an hour or so before you, and of course the backroom is going to be bad at that point.

You should PM me and tell me what he had to say about it! Reefer is atleast better than dry van --you get a lot of rejected freight and its usually edible! I had 3 cases of bologna rejected once...hebrew national!

I figured as a tanker yanker i'd atleast....Not have to deal with lumpers. Be capable of unloading my own truck when asked to, without hand unloading, ever. And not have to deal with deliveries such as these ...and these are my werner trucks in these pictures, and these are quite typical of the docks werner sends you to....

I mean, I know theres some screwed up places tankers go to, but ....not quite to the whole liftgate unloads while blocking streets and blocking busy alleys while someone drags pallets out with a chain..

This is a little dinky directv dealer in Yonkers, NY, with a big warehouse and big training facility upstairs...no dock (unloaded with a forklift and a 53' chain)...in an alley.. during a snow emergency..before the snow was dumped in the hudson river, but within minutes of it being plowed, had to drive to the end of the alley and do a u-turn, snow everywhere, directv vans everywhere, had to back up a couple of times, fold peoples mirrors in!

this is the back of a dollar general store, this is the actual position the truck had to be in to unload. I took the pic after i lifted the liftgate off the "dock" (more like a porch on a house!) and closed the doors (wish i woulda done it before, so it was more obvious!), but yeah....blocking a road! Well, its a service road behind a shopping center, and the yellow line is a firelane marking, not a lane divider...

This is a very common sight. No, i did not run the wrecker operator over! He's securing the truck to the lift!

i just felt like showing this one.

sorry for being late to the party but i saw/read 2 posts here and had to reply:

read about a truck driver shut down? if that happened at any major trucking company today all the company drivers would be fired on the spot and no telling what they would do to your dac report?-(charged for truck recovery?)

read something about the a t c strike back in the 1980's when ronald fired all of them. the a t c strike were federal employees and in their contract and i think that it stated very clearly that they could not strike for any reason what so ever.

yes an at-will employment sucks and i know. (connecticut iowa and nebraska)

drove for werner from may 1996 till may of 1998-(right before the paperless logs started) for a pasture to graze in that was not as green as i thought it should have been.(but the pete 379 was so pretty and it had all that chrome on it and the second truck i drove could go on the railroad tracks how cool is that!)

i am all for serious changes to come to the trucking industry even though i no longer am a driver.

for a good friend of mine who owns 8 trucks. we ran all up in the northeast only. talked to the recruiter friday once again and asked him why is im exp and have to go with a trainer he said its not verifiable because the guy i drove for dont have an office phone...uhh well excuse me that he dont wanna hire somebody to sit in a office all day. he does the dispatching payroll and all and the only way of contact to him is a cell phone...oh well it has to be a direct phoneline...thanks but no thanks weiner ill go to work for swift where i dont have to go with a trainer

    Huh???

How did a 4 inch cheap chain used to secure a trailer cause someone a serious kidney injury?? I don't get it.

I could see maybe scratching a knuckle on it or something, but how does that snap and slam someone hard enough to make them pee blood?
