what ive found can help when im getting a bit zoned out is to raise or lower your seat an inch or two, i find the different position changes my focus angle on the road and instruments and changes the way my legs are in proportion to the pedals and helps a bit if your getting stiff in the legs and back. also turn off the cruise and use your foot, play a bit of a game in your head to make yourself concentrate a litle more to maintain the same speed. also i play a game in my head " whats the guage read" if i cant remember what the oil pressure or coolant temp or odometer readings are after glancing at them then im getting close to needing a brake.

I always drove NIGHT TIME as much as possible.

Less traffic, less cops, the "day drivers" have gotten out of the way, and you have a more peaceful and less stressful trip.

I can lay down 10 - 12% MORE miles in the same time, and at the same speed, by driving "9pm to 5am" than a driver can driving "9am til 5pm".

Anyone who doubts me is more than welcome to time a trip around ATLANTA at 2pm .... and 2am .... and then tell me I am wrong.

    Anyway,
I was always a "creative logger" anyway.
My sleep patterns aren't like anyone elses I know, and I don't even really follow a "pattern" that I have noticed.
I just did what was right for me.
When I felt good, I drove.
When I got tired, I slept.

And if I thought I might not be able to drop off to sleep, a couple BENADRYL (i have allergy problems anyway) will help you doze right off.

It's LEGAL, and you will wake up a little better rested due to the relaxation it gives you.

But don't use every night, just for the hard times.

    Magnum1 and lupe Thank this.

Would bobbing your leg up and down with the foot work for getting the blood moving?
