I'm not an attorney but I do not agree with this. I know you are using an extreme example but if public nudity was considered a right under the 1st amendment every public indecently law and most laws dealing with public showings of the full monty especially around children would be stuck down. If you are caught driving in the buff most of the time the LEO will try to get you covered but you had better cover or you will be arrested. Also there are many exceptions to the right of free speech and you would do well to learn them if you want to continue this debate. I also agree that there are some basic limitations on the 2nd amendment. But it is like the SCOTUS said in its District of Columbia V Heller and the later McDonald V Chicago decisions the right to own a firearm is absolute.

My father taught me and I always thought the same thing. A tire thumper is so much better in a closed environment then a firearm. ( even though dad used both). Back in the 60s dad was in breezewood and had fueled and was enjoying a meal before he turned in for the night. Dad was driving for a guy that had his trucks leased to Mercury Express then. After dad parked some moron was in the process of stealing his fuel and another driver told dad about this. Dad walked into the C-Store grabbed a thumper told the guy at the cash register he would be right back. Dad walked quietly up to that guy and smacked his noggin with it. The cops refused to arrest him and nothing was done. The guy was toted off in an ambulance. Dad took the thumper back after wiping it off. Dad said another driver bought it that night. Dad also put his .38 under the nose of a girl who had tried to distract him while her male partner tried to sneek up on him near Elizabeth NJ one morning. Dad was looking in his right California Mirror and saw it. To the day dad died he laughed at the memory of watching those 2 as their butts flopped when they ran.

I was going to say....
Nope never mind. I'll just let it be.
Ahhh! Dang rabbit! I just can't!
My comment is not to be taking literally. It was more sarcastic than anything as I was in a bind to make a joke towards @texasbbqbest 's comment that what to do if a LEO comes around and I got the truck locked up tighter than fort Knox.
It was a joke of exaggerated sarcasm x-ray, unwind a tad. It's the weekend.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
Some of us work the weekends......Blackshack46 Thanks this.

Why do you think I'm up before the sun today. Just got home an hour ago. At the laundry mat killing time on TTR and then, and then it's good old nap time.

I fully understand. But because of other comments and emails I have received over the last few weeks I have a serious burr up my behind when it comes to things like this. This is a forum for mostly rookies to come get good reliable information. It is not a place for them to hear myths and fallacies. The older more seasoned drivers in here really need to be more careful before you cause some new guy to get in serious trouble out there. Everyone of us know that it is not like it used to be. 30+ years ago the stakes were not as high. Today a small mistake made at the right time and place can have a lifetime of consequences. I don't want to be responsible do you?Blackshack46 Thanks this.

And I agree with you, I've been seeing you pop up quite frequently lately, putting the truth out there, and I commend you for it. I imagine it takes a lot of energy to do so. Nothing short of wanting to reach through the computer screen and slap some of these responders I imagine. Cough @scottied67 cough. No I'm just joking scottie. I wish you no harm.
But anyway, I knew that was your intentions with your response to my post, and if you can take it and play some truth off it for the rookies, then have at it. Although, you best be prepared for a response like my response to your response. Hahaha. I'm all fun after working. -
Me? Responsible?
HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!$$$ -
That is OK. If someone wants to say I am full of <insert favorite word here> OK do so, but you had better be prepared to post a link saying so. Over the years I have developed contacts all over the trucking industry as well as in Law Enforcement. There is someone in here that reports to be a MCSAP/CVSA/DOT officer. I have no problem deferring to this person, until they say something I know full well is not accurate. Depending on what it is I reserve the right to at the time call BS on them. A while back I got corrected on something drug testing related. I was wrong and admitted it. I am not closed minded, but I need to be convinced I am wrong.

Actually I am not a violent person. My disease keeps me at home more then I would like. I can no longer drive or fly. Although it has been a few years since I flew PIC ( not going to say what PIC means). I actually had a seizure this morning that has left me a bit weak. Even if I wanted to do so I would not have the energy to slap anybody. Somebody gets my dander up I either put them on ignore or I just go do something else. Right now I have 4 members on ignore. In a week or so I will remove 3 of them. The 4th will never be removed although I think he was banned some 2 years or so ago.Blackshack46 Thanks this.
