Wait ... We have a driver shortage??

If we did, wouldn't the wages be so high that they would not even bother stealing the gold they transport?

They could put a banner at the top of the website announcing that there's no such thing as a driver shortage, and there will still be people come in believing that myth. BTW, I appreciate your input on that other thread.

companies i had worked for, simply did not hire drivers with arrest records, let alone felonies or jail time.

i have hauled cigarette loads, and electronics, and i can assure you that those trailers were locked, sealed and all contents accounted for. it is a federal crime to break into a trailer.

anyone that stupid to break into a trailer deserves to never be set free before his time is up.

The govt themselves have programs to hire felons for civil service.
the govt offers has programs, or at least did have that they pay trucking companies to hire felons.
Another thing is, I do not have a clue what the percentages would be but not all felons are thieves, or would even consider being one.

I’ve hauled extreme value loads for a company and they had strict rules. No stopping for 300 miles and 1 of every 3 loads had a chaser security car and you never know if you get one or not.

    Nope. Not these felons.

Remember trucking is 100 years old, anyone who ship electronics, high dollar narcotics etc do not let drivers inside the warehouse without opening the cage they are waiting in, and then with two people on them at all times.

It's interesting to be within arms reach of piles of Demerol in little needle ready bottles on 4 pallets in the nose. but three people eyeball me very good so nothing will happen to them, if anything at all (It wont...)

If it's any place for stealing out of trailers, it's going to be in Jersey City in the old 15C truckstop which really just a shell. With holes for crappers and urinals. You learn to catty corner the rig next to the old three stack containers as much as possible and wait for a group of truckers to assemble before walking into the place.

There was a diner there that if you flashed too much money you might get a shiv inside your heart right quick. I used to wear a set of hillbilly teeth slightly browned and put a touch of shoe polish on my face. Tough to get off but for the purposes of looking poorly and not much money due to the really hideous hygiene appearance.. a doctor would conclude on head to toe I must be committed to a hospital pronto.

I carried a buck special in it's holster. It's a nice bowie style with the thin fake drop on top. 7 inches if useful.

No one bothered me or my truck too much with one exception.

Little dirt urchin came up to us with premium 200 dollar CB box. 20 dollah.

    BS. open it kid.

    naw 20 dollar take it.

    BS open it.

Driver circle closes around kid. He has no choice but to open box in implied threat.

A brick. Acme red house brick... fell to the dust.

For a kid he got a certain distance before someone clocked him with a sling. I had no idea one of those was in with us but you never know. Hes going to be hurting with a limited use of the shoulder blade for a while if it is not broken.

I once heard that loads of Cherries was the most valuable load you could haul.
