If you're not certified, adjust them, then have an accident you're screwed. If you need to adjust auto slack adjusters you need to replace them.

I've never understood this whole "certificate" thing. What is it? Never even heard of it until I spent some time on this website.

Just a reach around. I can sign a certificate saying that I am knowledgeable enough to inspect and adjust my own brakes.

I'm not even allowed to perform those here lol. I'm not even elligible to take the inspector's course because I'm no longer employed at a certified inspection facility.
