A few more questions.
Is this trailer dedicated to this job/run?
Do you have a light weight for this setup?
Do you have a slide 5th wheel? -
Speaking of sliding fifth wheels, @singlescrewshaker do you have one on yours?
singlescrewshaker and cke Thank this. -
I put 50 gallons more fuel after the scale for shower credit. Usually end up about 10100-10150lb steer with more fuel on..
-
Do tires have anything to do with steer axel weight rating?
-
Max rated weight is marked on the sidewall.Pottorffmichael1968 Thanks this. -
That being said, most states just check your tire rating and don’t care what your axle is rated for.Pottorffmichael1968 Thanks this. -
You cannot exceed the rating of either the beam tag or the tire sidewall. Max weight will be set by the lowest rated component.
Whether you can get away with it is a different matter. -
Your steer beam has a rating tag and your tire sidewalls have a rating. You cant exceed either. Or atleast you shouldnt get caught at it.
-
If your axle is rated for 13,500 and your tires are rated for 12,000
You are limited to 12,000.cke and jamespmack Thank this.
