    I've had guys with RGN's
move skidders cheaper than I would on a step deck and they were over width.

You think it might have something to do with the fact that its the slow season, brokers and shippers know and lower rates - or dont lower them pocket difference, and take advantage of the slow season and alot of guys just want to move at all costs?

I bought an old FLD '99 with 200,000 on over haul with documents cash. I dont have payments on it. Not a beauty queen but now thats its so slow I thank god I dont have payments and I can afford to sit and not move freight for free.About 3 weeks ago I got rid of my Flat and bought a 3 axle step and payments on that I can make working part time, I have only moved 1 load with it because of rates .

Ill wait and when the rate is good , Ill take it , otherwise Ill enjoy family time with my wife and daughters.

RGN's don't even know to charge RGN rates, how do you think a stepdeck will ? Been to Houston lately ? I can't believe what overdimensional loads are going for down there.

We don't do a lot of Texas, but the last couple times we have been down we have done decent. Seems like you can do 2.50/mi to OK or AR easy enough. I have a driver loading 10' wide tomorrow to OH for 2.50/mi + permits. Not great rates, but it works.

I had a customer tell me they are moving Specialized (RGN) loads to North FL for 2.18/mi + FSC.

Definitely silver trucks...some from FL, others from Wisconsin. Not sure what color Wylies are? Probably a few from the mothership in St Cloud.

I guess for me I'd rather take a beating on a legal load and get back to my decent frieght than mess with permits and daylight restrictions for $2.25. Which is what I was seeing. I don't do that much OS, but I'm always curious if it's "plus permits", should I assume they will reimburse a permit service like JJ Keller, or just the cost of permits and I'm supposed to do the ordering and follow up with each state ?
