As you know Cluck, my WS is not light at all, and with the Revolution 52 i was pulling, I could still put 51,500# on the trailer and be at 80k pounds gross.
Step or flat?

Ive got 2 brand new ritz hooked to 1 96 classic and 2 00 classic. all duals have aluminum outters and steel inners, My empty weight on both was 19500 lbs. so i can still do 51,000 might have to run 3/4 tanks but no biggy there. however most coils i haul are 43,000 or less.
PS both trailers are 13 big bubbas -
Just curious, whats the weight on a big classic, been looking at one
-
one reg says 17,500 thats the 2000 the 96 says 19500. real world its around 17500 to 18000 depending what you got

I'd go with a flat, I see five times more flat loads than steps
I took a load a few weeks back that was 30ft long oversize load when I pulled in with my step the guy said we don't load trailers like that, WTF I have been to lots of shippers and said they wouldn't load me. I can't tell you that last time I have loaded on my levelers most shippers say they are not safe -
It was an all alumnium 48' trailer. Empty weight was around 8,400#
