Yea, and watch union job sites... No matter how long you need to wait for their operator.. Found that out the hard way years ago..... Unless nobody around at all.... Got into it several years back at the John Deere dealer in Rockford, Il. I called and told them I will be there by 4pm that day. Nope have to be here by 3:30.. yard man goes home.. Ok will see you some time in the morning then.. Ok see you at 7:30 when we open.. No I said sometime in the morning. So I show up like 11am. They were like where you have you been? Truckstop sleeping in. So the yard man says well off load it. Nope I state. Your the yard man and it's your job to off load me.Well the fight was on.. He got over ruled by their office. I brought up the damage issue.. Easy ld. Exc. that I lded at port I was later told that if I'm in by 4 they will unld. it. Yard man was just a lazy arse and likes to leave early.. I told the yard man after he unloaded me that two can play this game and next time I might show up at 3:55 on a Fri. afternoon
Yea and another thing I learned about the Feller Bunchers. Not all cutting heads will rotate fully side ways. That is an option. Standard units only go 5 degrees.. We learned that the hard way on the one we took to Baltimore.. So either you hang it off the rear on a tight 4 or off to the side on a 3 / 1 which makes you like 12'5 wide or you permit for the hgt. Which will be right at 15'
I haven't hauled a new grader yet. So I would have to break out the oper. book and read how to do that... I like some new units now. Foot on the brake, seat belt strapped, oh and enter password.. That seems to be a Deere thing now about passwords to start unit...
The ones I have done usually 0000 or 1111 work unless someone changed it. Also gotta love the machines that a mechanic bypassed or modified. I did an smaller Kobelco,.. I started it up and loaded it onto my trailer. Then spent 20 mins trying to figure out how to turn it off. They put in a pull cable down on the floor in front of the seat that cut off the fuel manually. Hurst
Let's see, mech bypass safety switches so one can load the load. Do night move not knowing with the safety switches bypassed. The hyds. go into free float mode. Hyd. cyls. free float go under bridge and hit bridge.. Oh yea I know the hard way about people bypassing safety switches..
There is a handle on the window post to the right of the seat that looks like you just grab on to it for stability.... LOL There is a yellow thumb switch there that will raise and lower the ripper. Everything else seemed to be on the joysticks. At least everything that I needed to use. BTW the 14M is listed on the web site as being under 10' wide but the one I picked up had upgraded tires and thus was 10'4" wide.
