Steps to prevent trailer theft

    Some companies have strict no-drop policies unless at a terminal or a shipper's facility. And as I mentioned in another thread, those same companies have "rats" that will report a dropped trailer they may see [if your company has a no-drop policy]

    Otherwise, just use common sense, and drop as a last resort and use a kingpin lock and keep a good lock on the right door if you must.

    Been dropping and doing what ever I want for 27yrs.
    Empty trlr though.

    Some CO. have a message sent when driver pulls pig/tail out of ft. of trailer so they can tell what drivers are doing 24/7

    Yup same here drop and head to a gym or grocery store , I carry glad hand locks and kingpin lock . Some high value loads i will not unhook , I will just Uber or lyft in that case . Its ok to have a life on the road as long as its not counter productive .

    No, trucking is all about driving 100 hours a week. It’s a lifestyle.

    Anyone who enjoys anything outside of their truck is in the wrong line of work.

    Consider a folding bicycle. Can carry it inside the sleeper.
