Stevens Low Pay.... Poor Time At Home

I understand all trucking companies start and $0.26 - $0.27 cpm with brand new people.... am I wrong?

 

That sort of seems right, though I don't know for sure. I do know that the time kind of flies, after I think 3 or 6 months you get a .01/mile raise, another one after 3 months, and then at a year you get .30/mi.

See this is where I tend to not understand the problem people have. They told me that they like to keep drivers out 5 weeks at a pop. Its really a place where if you want to get out and drive while earning cash (though not as much as perhaps other places). If being out that long is a problem for you, I'd advise not working there. I do agree with the "not a place to stay long at" part though.

 

All depends.. I started at 34.5cpm but that was on a skateboard with a small company.

 

I started at .32cpm and it was reefer.

 

how many of you have really driven for stevens? they really are not a bad company to drive for. i have driven for them for a year i get 3000 miles a week # 31cpm.

 

There ok if you are just starting out and don't have to make much to live on and don't mind staying out 1-2 months at a time.

 

Hey im off to stevens on the 16th of jan.

 

This isnt because they were using their brains this is because D.O.T told them if they didnt change this they would be shut down
The reason they updated this policy is because too many trucks were parking in the back of trailers when they were going down steep grades

 

I gave them a year
no change
I dont spend my life slaming companys
for me nothing changed
I guess you got lucky and got a good DM
but a company who keeps you in yard for days once you get in is not a good company sorry
and you as a stevens driver know what i am talking about

 

Out time wasnt my problem
It was the out time and nothing to show for it
Stevens had no clue how to run some one who wanted to run
Im not out there for kicks
im out there to make money
Sorry but i will not waver from my opinion about stevens
The fact is they also hire employees to lerk in forums like this to post rebutels posing as drivers also
I caught one on this forum before i left.
this should give you a little insite to the company
Also the ones who are saying stevens is good havent seen the greener pastures imo

it is just an opinion based on my experiance with stevens
