Not sure... "Sunshine" at the Champaign Club was giving everyone the drips. Medics in Japan called it Non-Symptomatic Drip... NSD. Oops! That was Korea 35 years ago!

Stevens deducts for load locks and a meat lock. You will be reimbursed when you leave the company and turn them back in.
Prime trucks are set at 55mph (so I've been told) vs Stevens 62 mph I do know that Prime was about the only company that I could pass on the road.
I was in a Freightliner during training at Stevens and I thought that it was just as good as the T-2000 that I was assigned.
Being born and raised in Texas, I like the fact that at Stevens if you are not comfortable with the weather condition's you can shut down at any time with no problems.
I think both are good training companies. Good luck. -
Prime - on the company side 58 on the pedal, 62 on cruise. We run slower so our fuel economy is better... not sure what the company guys have to achieve these days. As far as weather is concerned, you are "captain of the ship." When it's time to shutdown because of conditions, you pull off and park - just let dispatch know what is going on. Same deal on equipment... you buy it up front. Chains and load locks are turned in for credit, thermometers and locks are yours.newbietrucker007 and nascarchuck Thank this.

Which company did you pick if you did already? I'm in the same boat but I already have my class A. I'm leaning hard toward both companies but a little more toward Stevens but hate that you can't bring the truck home but then again I have no where to park it but the Walmart down the street that Stevens will more then likely have me park it i just won't have to worry about asking them to park there

You won't be parking it at the Walmart for hometime... has to be in a secure location... behind a fence in otherwords. Don't worry though, Stevens has a list of authorized places in all States. Most of them are Kenworth, Peterbilt or Thermoking dealers. I park mine at a towing company that Stevens had on their list of approved locations.

I would pick Prime, because they have tanker, flatbed, reefer. You can change divisions/types of trucking without going through the hiring process over and over again.
newbietrucker007 Thanks this. -
Starting out today I'd choose Schneider. They have a ton of options, OTR, regional, Expedited, Dedicated, Bulk-Tanker, Flatbed, Reefer etc. A lot easier to move around within a company than switching companies these days and starting at the bottom again.
Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
Well hell that recruiter at school was lying then, I told him the closed Peterbilt dealer or kenworth dealer to my house was 30 minutes away an he said we have walmarts you can park at.

Dude must be totally new or something. Insane.
30 mins is nothing.
