n1xrf, where are you located? I know that my company has a few open trucks as we are currently delivering new ones. Pay is good as are the benefits. Company maintains the trucks very well. Just make a phone call and the needed repair is made. Probably have the choice of being a road driver (more regional than anything) or local. Let me know if you are interested.
Well crap! We dont run that way. We are out of Ft Worth and the closest yard to you would be Kansas City.
Figures. It's ok nascar chuck. I appreciate the info. In still looking and thinking bout where to go from here.
Here's an idea... design your perfect trucking job. List out whatever is important to you, with no. 1 being the most important. Then hit those truck stop recruiting mags, and see what fits. Don't stop there... use the internet to search out trucking companies, BBB, etc. There's a good job out there for you if you don't want to deal with the big outfits... you're just going to have to look harder.
I have found that The Truckers Report is about the best place to do research. The webpages and magazines are all full of crap. You just need to learn to tell who on here is disgruntled because they got fire and who has legitimate complaints.
Look at these companies: Holland Enterprises Dynamic Transit Millis Transfer Superior Carriers (terminals in Ohio) Foodliner (terminals in Ohio)
Right this second I'm glad I'm home. Old lady getting ready to have a baby anytime now. After the baby comes and things settle a little I may start looking hard again at a couple of those companies.
