TeaLHeart, I'm going to put a e-application with Stevens. I do not know if you get referal rewards, but if you do PM me with your info. It would be a little return for your info on this page. I can't PM you as I haven't posted enough.

Here I sit on home time, (finally) enjoying my adult beverage.
I was so mad yesterday, I was spitting nails. Had one delivery at 0735, right here in town, then off I go.
I waited more than 2 1/2 hours to get my PO and cash advance back so I could pay my lumper. No one answering phones, no one returning QCs, messages.
    It was a cluster!
If they are truely that backed up, they need more DMs.
    what a mess.
    But the beer is good!

    TLeaHeart,

I really appreciate the work and time you put in to keep this thread going so long with acurate info and honest opinions. Also the other guys contributions are appreciated as well.

I have been doing a lot of reading and trying to digest the pro's and con's threads on this forum about the different companies. It is really difficult to determine what company will be best for me to go with.

I know from your data that the info Stevens has on their web site stretch the truth a little bit showing guys getting 8k or 12k lease bonuses. At 1.5 cents per mile bonus even the guy getting the 8k bonus would have had to run at double the allowable mileage of 12.5k per month.

One question I have that isn't listed on their site is what the weekly lease cost is? Also I assume that you have to cover all maintenance costs, tires, and some insurance?

    Thanks

    Kevin

Congrats on the bonus at TLH. Somewhat suprised at your decision to stay, but hey, I am not one to question a mans decision when I am not him in his situation. You gotta do what is best for you and not be swayed by what others think. Between you and Emulsified my opinion of Stevens might be changing, 85% of this job is attitude and not the company.

8k bonus is dooable for a full fledge team. That is 22000 miles per month.

My bonus $3600 and change, for 240,000 over 2 years.

weekly lease cost is between $520 and $620 depending on the truck and the mileage. Then you have 3 cents for maintenance, 1.5 cents for taxes, 1.5 cents per mile for lease mileage. Then insurance of 200 to 300.

yeppers you pay for all maintenance to the truck, but Stevens does get huge discounts, if you go where they send you.

Trying to decide which company will fit with you is a challenge, takes information, your location, and asking lots of question of the company. If they do not answer your questions, I would not consider them for employment.

    Dryver,

I shopped around seeing what I was worth. My choices are limited, due to living in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, but I won't move, it is home. I know what Stevens expects, and what I need to do to make it work for me. Yes it is about attitude, more than the company as all companys have there quirks and problems.

My best choice this year, was to stay at stevens.
Between the bonus, and reduced truck payment since I kept the same truck, which I have just gotten broke in, and the re-sign bonuses, it made sense.

    Rattlebunny Thanks this.
