Got 300 miles left on this load for the second.
Wonder if I can make it!

Emul, I'm as good a candidate for whatever you wish to call me, but it can't be any different then what I've read in the faces of the cops I meet everytime I go into New York city.(3) 400.00 backup fee, 3 tickets on Grand Central Parkway cause I went left trying to avoid Whitestone Blvd., along with the fact I haven't seen beef yet that wasn't in a box. Well the pedestrian bridge next to Willow lake can be traversed on the far left, and nothing you can say will beat the merry Christmas I got afterward just before the officer said get lost without pulling out his ticket book. I, for one believe I'm pushing my luck every time I go there. And yes I learned its whitestone bridge. Here's to hopeing you and yours (to all ) have as happy a new year as I did. (With 5 1/2 hrs to go)
Ps. A heartfelt thanks to Lisa and Aaron in night safety.

I had a load to Florida, got to Dodge City and found out that it had been changed to a two pick, first I'm Liberal and it had been given to another driver. So now In have a load to Massachusetts... Sunshine traded for a NorEaster... Yay me! Oh and along with the extra 400 moles, I get three extra days.

But it gets better yet. I would love to put in for a repower, but this trailer needs to be fixed first. It appears someone backed it up a little too close to it (In Dodge City, gee is that possible?) Because the handle and the gear to roll up the landing legs is gone... broken clean off. Got the legs rolled up with a pipe wrench to get it off the ground and hand rolled from there, but can not drop it anywhere. Looks like a whole new landing leg may he needed.

I hope everyone's New Year Starts off a lot better than mine is ending!

No in dodge city youve gotta be kidding. I had an issue like that there too i had to get the yard dog as the trailers were touching down the side i needed to get into to crank. I mean not even a 2 inch gap.

Yes, I had to get a Dawg to pull this one out too... that was when I discovered there was no way to crank them up. I assume this is a trip to a Utility Shop somewhere between Dodge City and New England.

Oh well, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade... when it gives you limes, make Margaritas... stopping in Kansas City tomorrow. An old Army buddy is making Gumbo. Since I have about three days more than I need on this load...

    flue Thanks this.

I don't know who in class is preaching this BS about running the tanks out, I was taught to keep a 50 gal reserve, treat that as if it's my empty spot. I have that hard coded into the spreadsheet I use to calculate how much fuel to buy per trip.

My first student got off the truck last night. We were going right past his house and he decided to forego the bonus and take his time off. Overall a good experience. Now I headed to Dallas with a bunch of produce for Taylor Farms. I have an appt for 0800 tomorrow, but it's a drop so I guess being 900 miles out isn't a problem. Waka Waka

That reminds me when I was with my first trainer (Alliance) and we had unloaded in Casper, WY. He pulled into the fuel lanes at a truckstop (which I am positive was in network) because he wanted a soft drink. Our fuel stop was in Cheyenne. We didnt make it because he ran out of fuel halfway there. If I remember right the bill was over $600.

I just dont understand how someone can run out of fuel unless there is an issue with the fuel gauges, and then Stevens even has the fuel sticks to CYA.
