Over the years I've changed licenses to different states several times. Depending on the state, you may be required to take the Class C written test again, but you won't need to take all the CDL things or driving tests.
If you've been licensed for a while and change states, you may have to retest (written) for your Hazmat when you change.

An individual can legally drive with a valid, unexpired driver license from another state or country for up to 90 days after moving to Texas.
NOTE: The individual must apply in person at any driver license office for a Texas driver license within those 90 days to continue driving legally. An unexpired driver license from another U.S. state, U.S. territory or a Canadian province must be surrendered to DPS when applying for a Texas driver license.
Adults (18 and Older)
Individuals who hold a valid, unexpired driver license from another U.S. state or U.S. territory, or from Canada, France, South Korea or Germany (the countries Texas has license reciprocity agreements with), do not have to take the knowledge or driving tests.
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/driverlicense/movingtotexas.htm
of course, that's just Texas...but since it is a reciprocal thing, I would think it is true in all states. One just surrenders the out of state license and is issued a Texas license...for a fee...
enlightened one Thanks this. -
National Beef announced on January 31, 2014 that they would be closing the plant on April 4th of this year. Very sad for Brawley and 1300 people will lose their jobs.
So, anyone at Stevens who hasn't been to Brawley, put your request in now or miss out on a 30 hr DLD with no cell service and the dust blowing so thick you can't see across the street. Plus it's like 102 degrees.
What's that song about 'another one bites the dust'? Cargill closed a beef plant in Plainview TX last yr., so this drought and high land prices are really hurting the beef industry. -
Hi all,
I know this is an old post, but I wanted to toss my 2 cents out there. S/R's that don't allow us to stay may have gotten tired of dealing with the disgusting litter that drivers leave in their parking lots. And you all know what I mean by "disgusting litter".
I'm not going to argue with law enforcement and I'm not gonna be the one to test "jurisdiction" in court. But 2 things I will do...
1. Stevens needs to put it in the notes on the load assignment when no parking is allowed at the S/R.
This way we aren't blindsided and can plan accordingly.
2. If the S/R is going to be snotty about it like this one was in VA., then we will refuse the load assignment.
I sit in the passenger seat, but I'm still allowed to have an opinion.
The rant that I "quoted" on here is too common, getting old, and isn't helpful.
But, rant-on please. Just sayin'.

Emul,
I just wanted to let you know how VALUABLE it is to us (me and hubby) to have you on this forum to clue us into the behind the scenes at Stevens. Alot of it is just common sense if one is an empathic person, but the details you have imparted have increased our ability to manage ourselves, our clocks, our patience, and this life with more grace than we'd have otherwise.
We've been out here for a year and a half. I only wish we had known more of this a year ago.
Better late than never.
DDC Thanks this. -
There is a section under each S/R that lists things like directions into the place, whether there is parking and what the conditions are (I.e. parking up to 4 hours before appt. but must leave when empty)
The problem is the information for this is learned (for the most part) by the drivers, but just isn't relayed into the right people to put in the notes for the next driver.
If you will forward this information, it can be put into these notes and it becomes valuable for everyone. -
On the yard.
Came in tonight. Have a few things to clear. Hopefully will be out tomorrow. Saw the DFW desk and there's lots of load there so I will bust my butt to get things done tomorrow so I can grab one of those loads and get out of here.
No offense, but the yard holds no fond desires for me. -
Thanks Emul

We learned something new again and will be happy to oblige.
Is there a macro for that or do we just free form?
Off we go to Californ-I-A! -
Ditto.
Except for mama's burritos
.

I seem to recall either a way to add notes to an order or a seperate macro concerning that. No longer work there and have no way to check your macro list lol
