Be prepared-physically, emotionally, mentally. It will be very challenging. But well worth it.

    Greyghost828 Thanks this.

Bobcat, it has just occurred to me, you are exactly two years behind me. I started May 21,2012 which was the Monday that year, and my first weekend there was Memorial Day weekend.

I had a little advantage being and old Army buddy lives just north of Temple and he came and picked me up so I spent the holiday weekend with him. I remember they told us to practice shifting using a roll of TP and a plunger. I drove Davy's Freightshaker instead LOL

Yeah, I'm waiting for the 13/18sp plunger to be released.

And I just knew things were going way too smooth. I have been running hard in the 7 weeks or so since I left home, the first two were a little slow, 2400 and 2600 miles, but have been over 3k the other 5... Had to do a restart last Monday because I was flat out of hours. So I wasn't expecting this week to be stellar, bit with the load I am on plus the two I have delivered since Wed Morning I had a shot at 3400 and then another restart. Loaded in IL, drop and hook in Ft Worth with a load to Cheyenne, also a drop, head here to Lexington for a load that is already loaded and waiting... What could possibly go wrong? Oh right, scale above 81k... So now I wait. DLD is tonight at 8 so there is still time, but not by how I am going to have to take my breaks. I have already driven 340 miles today and needed to do another 250 to keep on schedule. Did I mention this is going to New Jersey? That should have been my first clue.

Well, it is a holiday weekend so the rework might go a little faster than normal. Then there is always the friendly weekend crew who will be more than happy to assist you.:biggrin_25525:

I REALLY want a T-680. How can I make that happen as a company driver?
