yesterday I got a message to call for New York City routing tomorrow morning between 1500 and 1600...

I think I'm going to be a rebel and call in the afternoon

 

Hello from Canada. It's nice up here. Cleared customs in an hour in the US, (previous driver(Mexico side) error. But I charmed the pants off the CBP lady and she let me go. 5 minutes at the Canadian side and I was free. Presently at a TA in Woodstock Ontario. Definitely doing this again. It's amazing up here.

 

Well...Thursday was a horrible day. Couldn't do anything right. I was wondering what the heck I was doing out here. We ended up an hour from the yard. I was already searching for flights home. My trainer is a good guy, and between he and my wife, I decided to stick it out. Friday and today were completely different. Driving was a true joy. So on my way to level 3.

 

Bobtail, there are days like that. We all have them. The secret is to pick up the pieces and just keep on going.
It's amazing how much better things are after we've had a night's sleep.

 

And already with a preplan back.
I always loved heading up there. Welcome back to the fleet!

 

Reading this reminded me of a really rough day I had on my trainers truck, about seven days in to the 28 day training. I even remember googling the nearest car rental place to my location in Kansas.

Probably similar situation as you, as I too was also wondering what in the hell I was doing out there. Couldn't get anything going for myself that night.

Anyway long story short, I stuck it out and here I am 15 months later a truck driver. Sometimes it's a little hard to see the forest through the trees when training. Best of luck continuing on.

Oh. Just in case you were wondering why I was creeping on the thread lol... I work in the Stevens tanker division. Anyone in this thread work down here in South Texas or is this mostly for the transport road warrior's?

Man i dont even work for stevens anymore and i still post here lol and emul is a desk warrior now. The only wheels he rolls now are on a chair. So your welcome to post as much as possible. I am sure there are questions about that division your in.

 

Thanks, guys, for your encouragement. Need to get away from this Arizona desert. It's hot. Headed to California to cool off some...we're stuck on the western I-10 route last 5 trips.
