Emulsified: You're a caged bird now? Amazing how things change, but I think you've found your calling as a driver's champion. Tellin' the truth and knocking back the bull seems to be your best asset.

As for me, I'm working my way back to being a gear-jammer once again. For those that don't know me I was a Buzzard back in '08 and had to leave for economic reasons ... my house was being foreclosed on.
I'm working my way back now, living in Virginia and training with a local driver to get the CDL back.

That reminds me, to all you new drivers: DO NOT EVER, EVER, Ever, ever, ever ... give up your CDL once you have it. I moved to the State of Taxation that is Taxachusetts ... er ... Massachusetts. I had my CDL for just bout 14 months and had just left Stevens to deal with the fiasco that a foreclosure can cause in your life when I was confronted by the local constabulary. I had been in Massachusetts (moved there from Maine) for a few months and was told that if I didn't get a Mass license I was going to be arrested. Here's the rub: Massachusetts WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES transfer an out of state CDL that isn't over two years old. And it must accompany 24 months of consecutive logs. I think they secretly hate truckers in MA.

So, with that warining ... it's been six years ... the house is gone ... so is the credit thanks to the foreclosure ... the CDL is gone thanks to Massachusetts ... but, I'm fighting my way back. I have passed all the tests here in Virginia ... I have my CDL Instruction Permit ... and I'm training with a local flatbed OO who's willing to let me use his Pete for my test once I'm ready.

I don't know if I'll be a Buzzard again ... that ship may have sailed. I didn't abandon a truck or load, but I did have a (legitimate in my book due to stress) melt down one night before going in to New York City. I guess the pressure of the foreclosure and failing to rescue the homestead did me in that night. You can't believe what that kind of stress can do to you. But, I'm all better now, really I am.

I will apply to Stevens once I have the CDL in hand ... we'll see how that goes, but I may have to settle for Swift. So, if you see the Rattlebunny out in a white on white freightshaker please be kind ... I was a Buzzard once.

So is this FLorida thing true? Haven't been home in over 2 months and trying to get there now. Already almost 2 weeks past the time I requested.

Had to leave my codriver and truck today. On med hold for another two weeks at least, while my injuries heal, so he is going to drive solo while I'm down.
Y'all know how much i love trucking. I'm heartbroken.

Hey Guys, been reading Stevens threads and have no gone crosseyed. lol, Im a Centr...errr Swift driver with a year in and school paid off, casually dropped Stevens an App since I live in Texas, which is a liability at Central, and got a call today for a Texas Regional position. Just wandering if anyone could vet some of the info I got... home weekly!?! and the cpm looks good on the sliding scale, even by regional standards. Aslo running 2300-2700 miles in that function is fairly unheard of for a Central Regional. Ive always wanted a KW, and ive heard some good stuff about Stevens. Any Feedback I could get would be greatly appreciated, this thread is the most lively so post I am

Most of us are regular OTR drivers man. I don't know of any Texas regional drivers (although I'm not saying they don't exist.)

There are some texas regional drivers... they would be back to the yard weekly. The two I knew, got about 2000 miles a week, but that is all they wanted.

I know of one who used to be. She just went back OTR but just between TX and Cali. There was an account we had in Austin, the name escapes me, but when that went bye bye, she went OTR.

With tue extra Kraft loads though, maybe the miles are there.
