This company sucks been solo for 2 weeks now. Did a local was told I was getting local pay... and today found out I'm only getting 17 miles pay for it haven't seen a penny yet and I been out here since July 02 two . 00 checks I'm close to Dallas now about to drive this truck back to the yard and go back to Walgreens was making more as a photo tech pretty sad Atleast I got a cdl
Kolorado, sorry this isn't working out for you. One thing you might check is on that local, you were probably paid local pay in addition to the short miles. Call Will or Billy at x1146 to verify.
I want it to work out but I'm not driving for free or minimum wage and no one at Stevens can tell me what my deductions are for my school ing and all the other things maps locks etc etc... so I have no idea what my pay is going to be for tomorrow that will be my ultimate decision..
Contract Drivers Services for those answers. You may need to speak with payroll about some of the deductions, but those departments are forth coming and straight up. Brand new drivers are usually close to the end of the food chain when it comes to dispatch, until the planners can see they will run the load and deliver on time. The biggest shock I had coming inside was discovering the number of drivers that refuse to run their loads or just don't give a crap. The excuses are phenomenal...things like, "It's dark out!" or "my radio quit working". I cannot begin to tell you the number of drivers that can't find their butts without the Qualcom GPS, or how many run out of fuel and coast to the side of the road because, "Jill didn't tell me to get fuel". One the planners realize you'll run the load and not sit at some truck stop playing video games, you'll get more miles and better loads. Work with your DM as much as you can in planning and working for the next load. It takes time, but if you work it, you will usually do much better.
With access to a computer, heck even a phone go online www.stevenstransport.com click drivers login and you can look at your check stubs it should list all your deductions. As for maps, load locks, etc. they should have given you a receipt and that should go over the deductions. For miles it takes time to get into the lanes, but once you do as long as you run and are on time you should get the miles. Don't refuse loads and if you can take a repower once in awhile to help out, it goes a long way.
Trainer went home sick. My 2nd day in hotel...at MY EXPENSE. Counselor was supposed to reserve a room for me. He seems to be AWOL. Try and call again tommorow. Starting to Wonder if I made a bad choice here.
Hi everyone. I've been keeping up on the forum somewhat thru email notices, but I heard something through the grapevine that I wanted to ask about. Heard that a couple of Stevens drivers got into a fight at a receiver over an empty trailer and both of them were hauled off to jail. Anyone else hear anything about this??
Stevens will reimburse you for that if you put out the money. Talk with your counselor, if you can't get hold of her/him, call driver services. This happens all the time and Stevens pays the cost. Don't worry.
